MacLeod Highland Tours at Loch Awe

MacLeod Highland Tours visits Loch Awe. Here Kevin John Tolmie is describing the view from the east shore. He is looking towards the island of Fraoch Eilean. On the island is a ruined castle once a stronghold of Clan MacNaughten who held it on behalf of King Alexander III.

Beyond on the far shore can be seen the Pass of Brander where King Robert the Bruce had a victory in the Wars of Independence.

Loch Awe is the longest loch in Scotland and dissappears out of view to the left (south).
